Costa calls the Kremlin
The Baltics are "furious"

Why are Europe’s leaders so adamantly against peace talks for Ukraine?
Politico reports that some EU governments are “furious” with European Council President António Costa after his chief of staff opened a diplomatic channel to Moscow, holding two calls with the Kremlin over the last couple of weeks.
While some say they opposed the contact outright, others are just irritated at not being informed first. Such is the idiocy of EU bureaucracy, where countless different bodies and individuals must be contacted and duly consulted before a stapler can be moved from one drawer to another.
The Baltic states, to no one’s surprise, are said to be particularly furious about the prospect of peace negotiations.
Costa’s team was forced to defend itself against the “unprecedented fury” of unnamed leaders, assuring them that the calls were made with the “mere objective of establishing a channel of communication” ahead of potential talks.
Dragging their feet
Costa’s move to contact Moscow should be music to the ears of anyone who wants to see an end to this awful war — but in typical EU fashion, it triggered another round of futile infighting and foot-dragging.
Where there should be urgency, there is bickering over a harmless phone call and endless deliberation about who should speak for the bloc — and what should or shouldn’t be said.
Italy and Poland are reportedly angry at being excluded from initial talks between the E3 and Zelensky. Others are questioning why Costa is acting on behalf of the bloc, preferring the Commission or the EEAS to take the lead instead.
France and Germany are against talks for the moment, but “a huge number” of leaders took the opposite view, one official told Politico.
While they waste time, the war itself is threatening to spin out of control.
NATO-backed attack on Moscow
Ukraine, with the full backing of NATO, launched a major drone attack on Moscow on Thursday. It may be time to do away with the pretense that these are Ukrainian attacks and simply start calling them NATO attacks.
NATO engineered and funded this war. NATO has provided much of the weaponry. NATO provides the intelligence that guides those weapons, battlefield decisions, and targeting for long-range strikes.
The war has also been intentionally prolonged by the West, particularly Europe, which has boycotted diplomacy for four years and refuses to take Russian national security interests into account — something that, had it been done in 2021, would likely have prevented the war altogether.
Zelensky is a pawn in the West’s game.
Ukraine has been destroyed in the process, with thousands upon thousands of men sent to their deaths — and more dragged from the streets every day for forced mobilization.
Ukrainians are the cattle and cannon fodder for a Western imperial war against Russia. Ukraine is nothing more to its Western “partners” than a battering ram at Russia’s door.
You could compare it to Israel’s long-standing fantasy of fighting Iran, with the insistence that American soldiers do the boots-on-the-ground dirty work.
A narrative built on lies
Basic facts about the origins of this war have been twisted or deleted entirely from the official narrative. Flushed down the memory hole. I wrote about this in greater detail here.
But sometimes it’s useful to go back to basics and ask a simple question:
Would the United States have accepted a Russian military alliance moving into Canada or Mexico and attempting to place Russian military infrastructure and even nuclear weapons on its border?
Of course not. The world was brought to the brink of nuclear armageddon during the Cuban Missile Crisis over the deployment of Soviet nukes in Cuba.
But that’s what the West expects Russia to swallow today.
A Sarajevo moment?
I think it’s fair to say that most Europeans have yet to fully grasp how this war could spill beyond Ukraine, and yet we creep closer to major escalation every day.
Bombings on Kyiv have intensified, but given the huge risks involved, Moscow has so far shown quite considerable restraint in not responding directly to the West and the attacks on Moscow.
How much longer will that last? Domestically, pressure is mounting on Putin to respond in Europe. Once patience runs out, Russia may begin hitting European energy infrastructure and military facilities.
The West will call it “unprovoked aggression” — but if and when it happens, it will be anything but unprovoked.

That was a great, concise, and accurate article, I could not agree more with your insights and viewpoints - indeed they will certainly claim it was Russian, unprovoked attacks, if Russia strikes NATO countries, it is exactly what they want. It's so that in their own deluded eyes (and those of their sheep-like, propagandised believers), they have every justification to force their citizens, just like in Ukraine, to die for them in fighting Russians.
Mass Murderers is what western, NATO politicians are, and of course Israeli ones too. It sickens my heart to exist in this world, with such people who act like the vilest of Gods, that forget that every life is irreplaceable, and not one of us knows for a fact what is beyond death, and that this is potentially, and likely to be our only existence in this Universe - what a criminal, evil, waste of human life. They need to pay with their own, and be driven to the animal fear of death they drive millions to. We need leaders who are genuinely caring, life protecting, and empathic, not these insane, extreme narcissists, who think they are untouchable Gods.
There just aren't the words to describe how much they need to pay for their mass-murdering, thieving, arrogant acts - all of them seem insubstantial to describe just how evil these delusional, psychopathic murderers are. Maybe that's because there are no words that can truly grasp our hearts, to understand their evils, and what they deserve is something more than just death, but a suffering that will stand out to all, to never copy their acts. The words "Death is too good for them" have never sounded truer.
